Winters hasn’t quite released its grip

Limestone Pavement en route to Pen-y-ghent

What a great day, working as a freelance mountain leader for a company called Three Peaks Challenge and my first group guiding of the Yorkshire Three Peaks of the season. It’s still relatively early in the year, and whilst the weather still felt like winter at times the group did amazingly well. It was a cold and windy day with heavy rain coming in before the Ribblehead Viaduct at the Old Military Bridge. The group rose to the challenge and got their head down and round the route in under 12 hours. Well done all.
