Level 1 ⛰️ - Easy Walk: Our easiest walk is intended for all ages and fitness levels, featuring an elevation gain of approximately 300 metres. These walks typically last up to 5 hours and follow well-defined paths. There are no exposed areas, so you can enjoy the scenery without any concerns about steep drops or challenging terrain. Perfect for families or anyone looking for a leisurely outdoor experience!
Level 2 ⛰️⛰️- Moderate Walk: These walks introduce a little more challenge with an elevation gain of 300 to 600 metres. Expect to spend around 5 to 7 hours on the trail, which may include some uneven ground and steeper sections. These routes are better suited for those in good physical condition and looking for a rewarding outdoor adventure.
Level 3 ⛰️⛰️⛰️- Challenging Walk: With an elevation gain of 600 to 900 metres, these walks are aimed at those who are physically fit and have some hiking experience. The duration is typically 6 to 8 hours. You will encounter more rugged terrain, longer and steeper ascents and rockier ground. Whilst well-marked paths will be followed, depending on the route there may be sections where the paths are less defined. This is a fantastic choice for fit individuals who are seeking to push their limits while enjoying breathtaking views.
Level 4 ⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️- Strenuous Walk: These walks tend to be longer in distance (for example the Edale Skyline) and will include significant elevation gain of between 900 to 1200 metres. These walks can take anywhere from 7 to 10 hours to complete. Expect a demanding walk that includes steep inclines, rocky paths, and potentially low grade scrambling or rock steps (not rock climbing). These routes tend to venture onto higher ground where there is the potential for challenging weather conditions. These adventures are best suited for experienced walkers who are fit and have experience in the hills and mountains and are prepared for a rigorous day on the trail.
Level 5 ⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️- Expert Walk: Our most challenging routes which involve an elevation gain of over 1200 metres and can take 10 hours or more to complete. You will walk longer distances (Yorkshire Three Peaks for example) and/or navigate steep, rugged terrain requiring a high level of fitness and walking experience. Depending on the route there may be low grade scrambling (not rock climbing) and walking at higher elevations where the weather conditions can be challenging. These routes are intended for those who are well-acquainted with the UK's hills and mountains and ready to tackle serious challenges in the great outdoors.
Equipment will vary depending on the adventure you book. We'll provide you with an equipment list when you book but below is an example equipment list for our "Snowdon Sunrise" guided adventure and is representative of the equipment required on our level 3 walks and above.
EQUIPMENT LIST - SNOWDON GUIDED ASCENT

* Hiking / Walking socks • Comfortable, hiking over ankle hiking socks (not cotton). We would advise that you bring along a spare pair for walks over 10 miles.

* Walking trousers • No Jeans or denim • If wearing shorts please ensure you carry a spare pair of full length trousers

No one wants that to happen so if you do not have the mandatory equipment then we may be forced to cancel or change the activity at your cost.
If you have any queries on this kit / equipment list then please do not hesitate to contact us either by emailing dan@sevenhillsoutdoors.co.uk
